Wanted to share these thoughts. As we stand as believers and we are faced with opposition, false or phony believers, imposters, abusers and those who have the god of this world as their true father... we must remember God's Holy Spirit is greater in us than they that are in the world.
We don't stand prideful in that just an acknowledgment of who we are and who we belong to. Our flesh may say these are against me but God says no they are against me and I will contend with them. Imagine a parent who comes out to defend their child from bullies.
I never really experienced having a good father so it was difficult to understand for years after becoming a believer. Then when I finally knew how much God loved me I knew His righteous indignation against those who would hurt me was always present. Our strength is in the Lord and knowing that we can rise up and not shrink back to our enemies.
I think of Nehemiah when his enemies were persuading him to talk, Nehemiah shunned them. Nehemiah 6:2-3 2 That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.3 And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?
We need to not be drawn in by abusers. They want to stop the work God is doing in our lives. Nehemiah had a strong confidence in God. His faith caused him to build the wall for Jerusalem. I believe there are many Nehemiah's right here on this blog. God will call each of us to accomplish whatever work He sets for us to do. Prayer is a great work and the most important of all.
