John 1:40-50 (KJV)

40 One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

If Nathanael were living in this world today he would emphasis the same thing. Can anything good come out of the nations of the world?

According to the news, no… there is no good news. Nothing in this world is stable. It is all going to crumble any second like an old piece of stale bread. It seems there many cooks in the kitchen and they are cooking up dishes that will never be appetizing only trash material which will disintegrate into stinky refuse. Who wants to stick your face into that?

You see the world forgets about the power of God. In their eyes it doesn’t exist. Everything is random, created, executed and then blared out in atrocities.

But wait a minute, Jesus said Nathanael will see greater things than these. Jesus is speaking the truth as He can never lie. What did He refer to? He was referring to His great power.

As believers we live here but again we don’t have our citizenship here. The world doesn’t like that. They want everyone’s citizenship to be a part of theirs.

This is why the anti-Christ will demand the mark so you become a citizen of satan and hell.

So in order to pull us away from our citizenship in heaven, they pull every gravity stunt like a magnetic current to get our focus off of Jesus.

We live by the power of God and His Holy Spirit living within us. The world cannot compete with that. Even the anti-Christ with the false prophet will fall short because they will be thrown into the Lake of Fire along with their cohorts.

So how does the anti-Christ spirit attempt to destroy our walk?  It leads us further away from the truth until the only sound we hear are lies coming from every form of media. It’s so easy to figure out the blaring voices, they mix truth with lies, usually it is just lies. What a bunch of slushy mud.

Pigs hang out in mud, humans are not supposed to. So as born again believers let us get out of the slushy mud and remember that we have been washed by the blood of Jesus.

Do you want to hear a powerful verse?

John 14:12 (KJV)

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

This world revolves around nay sayers. It’s meant to be this way because the world is full of darkness and those who share in this darkness want to plaster us with it.

They think they are doing us all a favor by deceiving and leading hearts into their domain. The sheep have to be fenced in or they may find their true Shepherd calling them out of bondage.

The encouragement I want to give is, Jesus said to Nathanael greater things we will see and then He says greater works we will do as He sits on His throne.

I long to see and long to do, but we cannot actively experience the hand of God if all we are doing is digesting what the world is offering up for our next meal. It’s only going to give you indigestion and a lot of nausea.

Nathanael asked a very good question, can anything good come out of (Nazareth) this world? I would say it depends upon your source of input. If it is everything that fights against the Kingdom of God, misleads, deceives, lies…then no. Darkness does not have any good in it. But if our power and source of strength is God, then greater things we will see and greater things we will do.

If you trust the Lord He will lead You into truth. If you trust the world, you will be led into lies.

John 18:36 (KJV)

36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

2 Corinthians 4:1-4 (KJV)

1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Many are claiming to be believers but what they are doing is handling the word of God deceitfully. Why? Because the god of this world (satan) has blinded their minds to be the diabolical force against Jesus and His true followers. This is hate brothers and sisters of the highest kind. God is love, but they choose hate and destruction.

We must separate ourselves from being a friend of this world as we will become an enemy of God.

James 4:4King James Version (KJV)

4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

1 John 2:15-17 (KJV)

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.

Romans 5:10  (KJV) For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Psalm 39:7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

Our answers are only found in Jesus, not anywhere else. His Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth.

John 16:13 (KJV)

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
