How many of us anticipate our prayers getting answered? We either wait in wavering unbelief or in eager anticipation? Don’t we know that God is even more intent about answering our prayers than we could ever be. He does exceedingly above and beyond what we can imagine or think.
Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us…
We pray salvation for our families and hope they become born again.
John 3:3 (KJV)
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Jesus isn’t skating around the issue or mincing words. He is telling us point blank, His blood shed took away our Adamic sin. If we don’t believe in God coming to earth as man and taking our place on the cross then there is no eternal life. If we believe in Jesus' atonement then God’s Holy Spirit will come to live inside us allowing us to become righteous in His sight. His free gift of grace only requires that we believe.
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
How much more does God orchestrate our prayers and hopes to bring them to pass. He is significantly more in the mix of it all than we tend to think or believe. Why is this? When we cry out to God we reason with our words bringing them into a finite world but God is not finite, He is infinite. He sees the beginning and the end. We only see the here and now which stirs our hearts to doubt. God wants a glorious ending to glorify His great Name. He is a loving Father.
We tend to carry the weight of our prayers upon our shoulders but God wants us to just believe. Believe that He is good, faithful and merciful to bring the prodigals back home, to set the captives free, to restore all the years the locust has eaten. It doesn’t get much simpler than that.
Matthew 11:27-30 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
We don’t have to stay in our doubt. Nothing is impossible with God. He created the universe with His very breath how much more can He redeem, renew and restore all things.
