We can say every soul thirsts or hungers for something.

What are you thirsty for?

What are you hungry for?

The Israelites could only think of one thing and that was water. Well, when you are out in the desert you tend to think this way. Water keeps you alive.

The Israelites also could only think of a second thing and that was to satisfy their hunger pangs.

They didn’t really grasp how God was going to supply all their needs. They only thought of the fine foods the Egyptians provided for them as they slaved away. It’s interesting how soon they forgot the misery of those 400 years in bondage when their bellies were fed. They complained to Moses how they missed their food…

Numbers 11:5 “We remember the fish we used to eat for free in Egypt. And we had all the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic we wanted. 6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

How did they figure their soul was dried up when they had all the manna they needed? What our soul hungers for will either lead us closer to the Lord, to believe in His goodness, faithfulness and promises or we will be like the Israelites where nothing was good enough and all they could do was complain.

Do we see our soul being dried up? Or…

Is our soul satisfied with the goodness of God knowing He will amply supply all we need?

Scriptures says…Psalm 84:11(KJV)

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Our view in life will either come from an empty soul which causes us to be discontent and distrusting of who God is or we will have a soul that is full of His Living Water and our Bread of Life where we never hunger or thirst. We will be satisfied.

It will be obvious of what we truly believe because it will flow out of our mouths.

Matthew 15:18 (KJV)

18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
