What happens when we are faced with fear? Fear that overwhelms your adrenal glands, promotes escalating anxiety which orbits into galaxies, blocks spiritual and cognitive reasoning. Fear that throws a dark blanket over your eyes and brings panic stricken palpitations which makes your heart run 50 mile marathons. How do you gather up all your traumatic emotional sea of inner turmoil and bring them into a place of calm and peace?

Let's propose there are two houses on a street that look identical on the outside but on the inside one is bursting with peace, knowing that your present and future is in the hands of God. The storm may be plummeting and pillaging on the outside attempting to pound it's hail through the roof but the inside of the house is warm, calm and full of rest. Peace is the fragrant incense brought up to our Father in heaven with faith and trust as the oil to please His heart.

The other house has inevitably been demolished and obliterated inside, windows blown out, doors flown off the hinges, the roof caved in half, the scuffed walls marked up with holes from erratic flying objects. Peace has been pulverized in this house. It is being devastated by an internal warfare of fear and twister type anxiety.

What hangs outside our door is either a sign that boldly says faith or a sign engraved with fear. We must choose which house we want to live in.

Mathew 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

I John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

John 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

Acts 6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations

Deuteronomy 32:20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Matthew 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Acts 14:27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

I John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

How do we overcome the world and fear? Knowing we are born of God and continue in our faith we are promised victory.

When we are faced with fear, we need to turn our face to Jesus and rest in everything He is and has done. Our faith relies on His faithfulness and not our circumstance.

Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight
