What belief system or world religion has ever said we have been made righteous in God’s sight through the death of His Son and sacrifice, with your sins eternally forgiven, given entrance to heaven and will live in the presence of our Father in heaven. I can’t think of one.
Matthew 1:23 (KJV)
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
John 8:58 (KJV) Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Exodus 3:13-15 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
By the way true Christianity is not a religion or a man based organization. It is being born again with God’s Holy Spirit living inside of you and having a relationship with the true and living God.
1 Timothy 2:5-7 (KJV)
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Being born again means because the veil was torn in two we now have access to the Father and can come boldly before His throne. Jesus became our sacrifice and high priest who took on the sins of the world upon Himself. That is the Gospel message.
Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
God’s grace is beyond comprehension or analytical prowess. Scripture says men love darkness rather than light.
John 3:17-21 (KJV)
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
How about the city of Nineveh? God spared them the first time they repented.
Jonah 3:3-10 (KJV)
3 And the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.
4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
Abraham pleaded with God if there was just 10 righteous people in the city of Sodom and Gomorrah that God could spare them. He said yes.
Grace is an amazing word as it is one of the most powerful words filled with a love that no man can comprehend. The cross was the destiny of God on earth who came in human flesh to die for us. But His resurrection brought those who believe into the heavenlies with Him.
Ephesians 2:6-7 King James Version (KJV)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
I wrote this a few years back about grace...
God's goodness & unmerited favor
Redeeming imperishable Love
Abundant streams of mercy
Eternal Salvation which cannot be bought or earned.
God is love and He is eternal therefore His love is eternal. And yet many have denied His precious grace because they believe they can save themselves. This is true blasphemy.
