GOD SETS EVERYTHING IN PLACE…
What do I mean? When a contractor is going to do a patio in concrete he will first have to frame it with wood and stakes. This insures the cement will stay in the exact areas of the frame. Then when the cement is drying they have to score it in just the right areas to prevent cracks that will take off on their own. It ruins a good pour when the score joints are improperly done.
God frames our lives so when He pours forth His destiny and will, it has His stamp of approval. If we get in the way, it will be like the concrete ran a-muck because the frames have been altered or moved with our personal liking.
Furthermore the concrete will never set right because it was never mixed and poured correctly, the score joints are randomly placed without the proper placement so you have cracks throughout the cement…not a pretty sight.
Wouldn’t it be much better if God didn’t have to take a jack hammer into our lives and pull up the old concrete because we decided to do it our way?
I think of Jesus who was a carpenter. Can you imagine his skill, creativity and abilities being God incarnate! I would much rather have God frame my life rather than my own willful stubbornness and unbelief.
Can we build a foundation without Jesus?
Matthew 7:24-27 (NASB) The Two Foundations
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”
1 Corinthians 3:11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
