The walls of Jerusalem were broken down. The enemy had ravished Jerusalem and taken them away into Babylon in captivity.

Nehemiah was beyond heart broken. His grieving led him to fast, pray and weep for Jerusalem when he learned of it's condition.
The city walls had been demolished and had crumbled into rubbish.
We cannot leave the gates to our minds and hearts opened for the enemy to bring in destruction. He is a liar and a thief. He will steal your soul if he can.
