Luke 3:5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

- A valley cannot be filled unless it is empty just as a well that is dry.

- Every mountain and hill cannot be brought low unless there is a power to conquer the obstacles that are overwhelming and impossible.

- All that is crooked cannot be made straight unless there is the ability to see the crooked places and the authority to make them straight.

- The rough ways cannot be made smooth unless there is a strength beyond ourselves to make them smooth.

Our souls are like the valleys that are empty without God’s Holy Spirit. He fills them when we are born again. (John 3:3)

John 7:37-39  In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

God promises that no mountain or hill is too big for Him to conquer.

Nahum 1:5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.

Micah 1:4 The mountains melt beneath his feet
and flow into the valleys like wax in a fire,
like water pouring down a hill.

God sees our life before we do. He knows when there are crooked roads ahead and He knows how to make them straight. In the flesh we only see the crooked because we only use our emotions to solidify what we feel and see. God sees the crooked places smooth because it is part of the transformation process He orchestrates in our lives.

Isaiah 42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

Isaiah 45:2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

Many have walked on rough paths with stones and rocks under our feet. No matter how large or small the stone or rocks are, our feet remain sensitive to their existence such as one pebble in our shoe.

Some have greater stones that are considered rough and unbearable, they seem to gouge every step one takes. It makes life more difficult and more intolerable when these rough paths go on for years. It is exhausting not only mentally but emotionally. What does God promise us? To make the rough places smooth. We can believe His word because His word never returns void.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Psalm 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Matthew 11:28-30  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
